The Overview

The clients brief was the installation of holiday lodges into an attractive and unique rural location in a locally designated Special Landscape Area.

The Challenge

The project required a landscape lead considered approach to the layout and soft landscape. The scheme necessitated an integrated design process with the Architects to ensure the cabin layouts made the most of the landscape and wider setting for the guests to have a positive and exciting experience.

The Solution

To fully understand the wider context and demonstrate the impact on the immediate environment and the experience for others, Plaice undertook a Landscape and Visual Assessment. The planting concept and cabin layout was heavily influenced by this work.
