The Overview

Clients approached the Practice to upgrade and improve their new home in the Alde Valley. This included their outside garden space. Plaice worked with the clients to interrogate their needs for the garden.

The Challenge

The clients are active people and like to be outdoors as much as possible and were keen to include sustainable and self-sufficient features where possible. The existing garden provided features to work with, such as attractive mature trees and provide structure to base the design on.

The Solution

Opportunities were identified to enhance views to the surrounding countryside. The design elements included an enclosed patio area, herb garden and an outdoor kitchen. The front garden included a new cart lodge with grey water harvesting along with an opportunity for an independent water supply.
