Plaice Design Co Ltd are pleased to announce that Planning Application has been granted for three new self-contained flats in Felixstowe, Suffolk.

The scheme formed part of a land severance, and we were appointed to carry out a feasibility study to evaluate the possibilities for redevelopment of the land and a full planning application.

We decided to progress with a design based on an Edwardian vernacular that respected the host dwelling and properties located directly opposite the building. Materials were selected to reflect the heritage of the street – namely Suffolk Red bricks laid in Flemish bond, clay plain tiles and sash windows.

The siting of building was particularly important, not to impose on the neighbouring properties either side, whilst also protecting amenity and access to light.

Each self-contained flat will be laid out to provide good sized accommodation comprising, Lounge, Kitchen/Diner, Family Bathroom, Store and two Double Bedrooms, one with an En-suite shower room. A balcony/terrace at the front of the property facing the street, will provide each flat with its own small amenity space.
