Yesterday saw the project team and owners of Harefield House along with representatives of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists convene to celebrate the Commended Alan King award for Excellence in Technology.
Plaice and the owners of Harefield House were presented with commemorative plaques from Alex Naraian PCIAT President, along with Kevin Crawford MCIAT Vice President Technical, Francesca Berriman MBE CIAT CEO and Adrian Fleet MCIAT East Anglia Region Secretary.
The presentation was an opportunity for CIAT and the project team to be given a guided tour of the sustainable home, hearing first hand how the owners have settled into the property and how the materials and technology combine to provide a calm and functional family home.
Kevin Crawford MCIAT, Vice-President Technical at CIAT said “I always enjoy visiting our Award winning projects, it is a chance to see the actual building and find out how it is being utilised by the end user. Harefield House is no exception and it is great to see in practice this bespoke, contemporary home created from a prefabricated timber kit. Congratulations once again to Plaice Design.”
Chris Game MCIAT, Co-founder and Director at Plaice said “It really has been the perfect day to invite all who were involved to revisit the home and celebrate the award with the owners, and for them to see their new home being recognised at this level.”
